A good label gives a wine a recognizable appearance, conveys the product's character, and leaves a more professional impression on the customer. This is especially important for small wineries, family producers, restaurants, gift sets, and personalized wines for special events.
In the Canvas Studio, you can create a wine label entirely online, without installing any software or hiring a graphic designer. Simply choose a design, enter your information, customize the layout, and place your order.
Why is a label important for the appearance of wine?
A customer often notices the bottle and label first and only then reads the details about the wine. That is why a label is not just a place for the product name. It should visually represent the quality, origin, and style of the wine.
A well-designed label can help to:
- make the bottle look more professional and attractive
- make different types of wine easier to recognize
- help a small producer build a recognizable identity
- give a gift bottle a personal touch
- ensure the product is ready for sale, promotion, or a special event
The design does not have to be complicated. A clean layout, a legible name, and a few carefully chosen details often yield the best results.
How to create a wine label online?
The label creation process is divided into several simple steps. During the editing process, you can monitor the appearance of the label before adding it to your cart.
1. Choose a label design
The first step is to choose a template that suits the character of your wine. A variety of styles are available, from traditional labels to clean and modern solutions.
When choosing, think about the type of wine and the impression you want to achieve. Red wines often suit darker and more elegant designs, while white and rosé wines may look better with lighter colors and simpler layouts.
The chosen design serves as a base that you will customize for your product in the following steps.
2. Choose the dimension and shape
The label should match the shape and size of the bottle. Before ordering, we recommend measuring the surface where it will be placed.
Measure:
- the maximum width of the label
- the desired height
- the flat part of the bottle without pronounced curves
- the available space between the front and back labels
You can choose labels in the offered dimensions and shapes, depending on the selected design. A correctly chosen size facilitates application and contributes to a neater appearance of the bottle.
3. Enter the wine name and details
After choosing a design, you can customize the text on the label. The available fields depend on the specific template, but you can usually enter:
- the name of the wine or winery
- the type of wine
- the vintage year
- the alcohol percentage
- the bottle volume
- the origin or place of production
- a short description or additional message
It is not necessary to fill in every field if the information is not relevant to your label. It is more important that the final design remains clear and that the key information is easily readable.
Before finishing, be sure to check the spelling, numbers, and vintage year. Labels are printed according to the content you enter during creation.
4. Add your own logo
If the design supports adding a logo, you can upload the emblem of your winery, business, or family farm.
For the best result, use a high-quality logo file, preferably:
- PNG format with a transparent background
- a sufficiently high resolution
- a version without a white background
- a simple and readable emblem
Small or blurry files may look good on a screen, but will not have the same sharpness after printing. If you do not have a logo, you can choose a design based on typography and the wine name.
5. Customize colors and appearance
With certain templates, it is possible to choose a color palette that best suits your product. This way, you can adapt one design for red, white, rosé, or dessert wine.
Choose colors in accordance with:
- the color of the bottle
- the color of the cap or capsule
- the type of wine
- the existing visual identity
- the look of the box or gift packaging
It is good to maintain enough contrast between the text and the background. Decorative details can enrich the label, but they should not make reading the name and basic information difficult.
6. Preview the label before ordering
During editing, a preview of the label with your entered content is displayed. Review the complete design and check:
- if the name is spelled correctly
- if the correct year and type of wine are entered
- if the text is legible
- if the logo is of sufficient quality
- if the desired dimensions are selected
- if the quantity is sufficient for the planned number of bottles
The on-screen display serves as a preview of the element layout. Color shades may vary slightly depending on monitor settings and the material being printed on.
How to place an order?
When you finish editing, select the required quantity and add the created label to your cart. Afterward, enter the delivery information and complete the order.
The ordering process looks like this:
- Choose a wine design.
- Select the dimension and shape.
- Customize the text, colors, and logo.
- Check the final appearance.
- Select the quantity.
- Add the labels to your cart.
- Enter the delivery information and confirm the order.
Labels are produced according to the data and design you have chosen. We deliver completed orders to addresses across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
How many labels should you order?
We recommend ordering slightly more labels than the total number of bottles. Additional labels can be useful if a label is applied incorrectly, damaged during packaging, or if you happen to need a few more bottles later.
For example, if you are preparing 100 bottles of wine, it is practical to order at least 105 to 110 labels.
If you use a front and back label, count them separately. For 100 bottles, you need 100 front and 100 back labels.
How to correctly apply a label to a bottle?
Before applying, the surface of the bottle should be clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, or condensation. Do not apply the label to a cold or damp bottle, as this can hinder proper adhesion.
For neat application:
- Place the bottle on a stable surface.
- Determine the middle of the front side.
- Gently stick one edge of the label.
- Gradually align it toward the other side.
- Run your hand over the surface from the center toward the edges.
If you are labeling a large number of bottles, make a simple guide or position marker. This way, all labels will be applied at approximately the same height.
Labels for small wineries and special occasions
Personalized labels are not intended only for large producers. They can also be produced for smaller batches of homemade wine, promotional products, and private events.
They are most commonly used for:
- family and small wineries
- homemade wine
- restaurants and wine bars
- weddings and anniversaries
- business gifts
- tourist and promotional products
- limited-edition wines
For special occasions, you can add names, a date, a short dedication, or the name of the event to the label. This turns a standard bottle of wine into a personalized gift or keepsake.

You no longer need special graphic software to create a professional label. Select a template, customize the content for your wine, and preview the appearance before ordering.
